Changing today brings a dramatically different tomorrow

October 1, 2014

Our lives are filled with change. Sometimes change can be viewed in a positive way; whether you receive a promotion at work, gain another family member or change your attitude by thinking more positively. However, adapting can be very hard to do, especially when you do not foresee it coming. The key is to take one step at a time and find it is not as hard as you thought.

Start by evaluating yourself. What is something you have always wanted to do, but have been holding back? Maybe you feel restricted from certain activities or life events because you are experiencing a change in your hearing. Hearing loss is a common life change, and one that some have a hard time accepting. Taking small steps towards accepting this is important and very beneficial. Life is filled with wonderful sights, smells and feelings, and experiencing these without sound hinders the impact on your emotions.

The next step towards accepting your changing hearing is to understand what you are experiencing. You are not facing this on your own. In fact, hearing loss affects one in three people over the age of 65. Despite what many people think, it doesn’t discriminate with age so anyone at any age can experience hearing loss. Fortunately there is an immense amount of support available to begin your better hearing journey.

Hearing aids are a great solution for bettering your hearing loss and improving your overall lifestyle. They are not “one size fits all” devices, so you are able to choose from a vast amount of sizes and styles to help meet your wants and needs. Make a positive change by scheduling a free consultation and speak with one of our hearing professionals at Sheyenne Hearing Service about the degree of your hearing loss today.

Change can be for the better and improving the way you hear is one change you will not regret.
